Master Lecture Series: Early Recognition Diagnosis & Management of Oral Pathology Conditions & ONJ for the Restorative Dentist & Office Based Oral Surgeons

Silicon Valley Capital Club
San Jose, California
May 3-4, 2019

While most dentists do not perform their own histologic testing, all dentists must be able to recognize conditions that may require biopsy or further treatment outside the dentist office. This presentation is not an exhaustive resource on oral pathology; instead, it seeks to provide the practicing clinician with enough information to help identify or at least narrow down the differential for every common lesion or oral manifestation of disease seen in daily practice as well as what to do about them.

The research on digital media is clear: it is mostly useful when your public already loves your product and/or service. The one exception: on line reviews are critical when they are applicable to your company. This segment will provide for an up to date, provocative discussion on digital media campaigns, educating you on what has been shown to work and what is generally overblown. This conference is designed for dentists, oral surgeons, dental hygienists and the dental office staff.

A SELF-ASSESSMENT EDUCATIONAL TOOL

Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Its Treatment

Robert E. Marx, DDS, and Diane Stern, DDS

Case-based learning is an effective and stimulating method to increase your knowledge base and prepare for examinations. This volume, “Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Its Treatment,” features 100 questions derived from actual cases that will test and improve your knowledge in oral and maxillofacial pathology and its treatment. The questions in this series cover topics that span the entire spectrum of oral and maxillofacial pathology, including oral cancer, odontogenic cysts and tumors, fibro-osseous diseases, salivary gland pathologies, and much more. Each item in the test is formatted as a brief description, often accompanied by a clinical photograph, radiograph, computed tomography scan, and/or laboratory value, followed by a succinct question. In most cases, the question is followed by four multiple-choice answers, of which only one is correct. A unique feature of the program is that it not only gives the correct answer, but each answer concludes with a comprehensive discussion of why it is correct and why the other options can be ruled out. Both the answers and these explanations are located in a separate file so that the test can be used both as an actual examination and as an educational tool. Also included are several “matching” questions that challenge the reader to coordinate and compare clinical, radiographic, and histopathology findings.

This test is designed for practitioners and students who wish to increase their knowledge, improve their clinical practice, and/or prepare for board examinations.
